SOLO, MettaNEWS – Persis has completed their training camp program in Yogyakarta last Friday (6/9). Throughout the week, Persis players underwent intense training sessions, physical conditioning programs, tactical aspects deepening, and bonding activities to strengthen team unity and improve communication on the field.
Regarding this program, Milomir Seslija as the Head Coach also gave his comments.
“I have previously stated that we do need more time, and this training camp is useful to unite us and spend time together to delve into tactical aspects. This is not an excuse, but indeed we need more preparation,” he said.
“New players, new processes. We spent time together, talked to each other, and analyzed everything together in the training camp sessions with coaches and players. What are our mistakes and what do we need to improve,” he added.
On the last day, Persis played a friendly match against Barito Putera to test the results and readiness of the team after the training camp.
The match ended with a 2-0 victory for Laskar Sambernyawa, thanks to goals scored by Ricardo Lima and Rizky Dwi.
According to Milo, the match went very well—not just about the final result, but also the playing process. But according to the Bosnian man, Persis still has some things to improve.
“Of course, there is still evaluation, one of which is we need to improve the quality of finishing because we had many chances today. But I am happy, now players understand that they need to help each other. Before the match, I changed the tactical approach because I wanted to adjust to the opponent’s tactics. I also emphasized to the players to communicate intensively, and now they talk to each other more often,” Milo said.
According to Milo, Persis players now communicate more frequently because they have the initiative to determine right and wrong based on field analysis.
For him, the coach has communication limitations when the match is ongoing and players must take the initiative to communicate with each other on the field. When asked about the busy September match schedule, Milo said that he needs support from all parties.
“I can only say, we need it from them (supporters). Players will try to give their all, and everyone must unite to achieve good results. Everyone must understand that criticism is not a personal attack, but a reminder to correct mistakes and become better. Players also want to fight with all their might for the family and team’s pride, so they will work hard. It won’t be easy, but everyone must fight as hard as possible,” Milo concluded.
